Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need separate insurance for my dinghy, tender or jet-ski?

Yes, lighter crafts like tenders or jet skis often require dedicated coverage, especially if used separately from the main vessel. We can insure them as standalone or as part of your yacht insurance. Smaller craft like jet skis and tenders are often included in the main yacht insurance policy, these need to be properly declared and marked with the main vessels details. In some cases, if they are not considered a tender to a larger boat, these require their own insurance policy.

What is the difference between third-party liability and P&I insurance?

Third-party liability covers damages caused to others (e.g. collisions or onboard injuries). P&I (Protection & Indemnity) goes further — covering pollution, crew claims, legal defence, and other complex maritime liabilities. It’s essential for larger or commercial vessels. (e.g. collisions or personal injuries).

Is my boat insured while it's out of the water or laid up?

Yes. We offer laid-up cover for motorboats and yachts during storage or maintenance periods. This protects against fire, theft, and weather damage

Can I insure my crew or captain under the same policy?

Crew medical and accident insurance can be added separately for individuals or as part of a group plan. We offer flexible health coverage — onboard, ashore, and even between contracts.

What if I sail outside of Spain? Am I still covered?

Yes. We offer international policies that cover navigation across the Mediterranean, Europe, or worldwide — depending on your sailing plans.

Can marine insurance cover personal belongings onboard?

Absolutely. Valuable items such as navigation equipment, electronics, and even personal effects like clothing or art can be included in your hull & machinery policy.

How are premiums calculated?

Premiums are based on the type of vessel, its value, navigation area, mooring location, and usage (private or commercial). We assess your case and propose the most competitive offer.

I own a boat rental business. Can I get commercial coverage?

Yes. We insure commercial fleets, charter businesses, and marine service providers with tailored packages including liability, loss of revenue, and property damage.
